Grant Awards

The Town actively seeks grants to assist with the day to day running of departments as well as to help with the procurement of special items and equipment.

Town Administrator

1.The Town received a grant of $25,000 in April 2019 to conduct a Capital Asset Needs Assessment for the Town. The project will start in May and be completed in October 2019 in time for the Fiscal Year 2021.

The Collins Center will complete the project which will give the Capital Depreciation Committee all the necessary tools to evaluate future capital needs. The study will also create a  five year capital plan of the Town's assets.

2.The Town received a grant of $13,000 in April 2019 to perform a Wage Study and Classification Plan for many Town positions. The Collins Center will start the project in May and be completed by December 2019 in time to make any necessary adjustments for the Fiscal Year 2021.

3. The Town received a grant for $25,130 to conduct a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) planning process for the Town. The planning process supports the municipality in completing a baseline climate change and natural hazard vulnerability assessment and developing priority actions to increase climate resiliency.

Fuss & O'Neill will assist the Town in this project.

4. The Town received a grant for $6,519 for a roadside safety trailer for the Water Department

5. The Town received a grant for $46,000 from the Massachusetts Office on Disability to replace the ramp at the Town Hall.

Police Department

The Paxton Police was awarded $17,622 for the Governor's Local Law Enforcement Equipment and Technology Grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.

April 2019 The Paxton Police was awarded $8,669 as part of a $30,274 grant from Homeland Security to equip police vehicles with ballistic equipment for officers assigned to respond to active shooter threats and situations.
