Water Main Break 5/5/24

Water Main Break

FINAL UPDATE at 4:00 p.m.: Water service is now being restored after today's main break and all customers should have water within the hour. It is normal to experience dirty or milky water, or hear popping noises when the water returns. This should dissipate quickly after running cold water for a few minutes. If possible, it is best to first run water from a bath tub or hose as all other fixtures have screens that can become plugged. Thank you for your patience during this repair. Emergencies can be called into Dispatch at (508) 829-4444.

Update as of 3:00 p.m.: the repair has been made and crews are backfilling the excavation site and slowly charging water mains. Customers should see water return over the next few hours. A final update will be posted as water service starts to be restored. 

Update as of 1:15 p.m.: crews are making repairs to the pipe and hope to be able to slowly restore water within the next few hours. An update will be provided as soon as water service is being restored.

Update as of 11:15 a.m.: crews have located the break and will begin to make repairs. We will continue to post updates as they become available. Thank you for your patience.

Update as of 9:30 a.m.: crews have located the main, but are still trying to locate the break before repairs can start to be made. It will be a minimum of 4+ hours before water may be restored, but it could potentially be much longer than that. Residents should plan accordingly. Updates will continue to be posted as they are available. We thank you for your patience as crews, who have been on the break since 4:00 a.m., work as quickly as possible to make repairs.

ORIGINAL POST:
There is a major water main break on Pleasant Street by Indian Hill. All neighborhoods south of Indian Hill do not have water at this time. Everyone else may experience some kind of interruption and possibly brown water as repairs are completed. We will be working through the day to get the repairs made and service restored.
