Paxton is small town bordering Worcester, Rutland, Leicester, Oakham, Spencer, and Holden.

Access Television

WPAX-TV Paxton Public Access Television has three (3) public access channels on Charter/Spectrum: 192, 193, and 194; and is overseen by the Paxton Cable & Communications Committee.. Visit their webpage to learn more or access the channels.

The Town of Paxton operates the ambulance service through a regional dispatch and can be reached by calling 911 for emergencies.

Dog Licenses

Drivers License / Vehicle Registration

The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles is responsible for issuing driver's licenses and registration of motor vehicles. The closest Registry office is in Worcester at 611 Main Street, Worcester, MA. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Thursday 8:30am to 7:00pm. Or access online: click here.

Electricity

Girl Scouts

Paxton has a thriving Girl Scout program for girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade. We are a part of the Pine Hill Service Unit within the Girl Scouts of Central & Western Mass Council. The Town of Paxton has one library, the Richards Memorial Library, located on the corner of Richards Avenue and Maple Street across from the First Congregational Church.

"Weed it and Reap" the Paxton, MA Garden Club (PMAGC) is a club created to promote the love and learning of all things gardening in Paxton. Paxton Woman's Club

The Paxton Woman's Club (PWC) is a 501(c)(7) multi-generational club that was organized in 1930. Our object is to encourage civic improvement in the community, to broaden active interest in vital questions of the day, and to promote general knowledge, culture, and friendship among its members. Each year the PWC offers a scholarship to a Paxton High School Senior planning to pursue his/her education at a college or institution of higher vocational training in the fall. Police / Fire / Ambulance (Emergency Communication) Department

The Town of Paxton Public Safety Complex is home to the police and fire departments and is located at 576 Pleasant Street. Post Office

The United States Postal Service has a satellite location within the Paxton Market Place at 707 Pleasant Street.

Public Meetings

The Town of Paxton holds a variety of open public meetings throughout the year by the Selectmen, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Health, Conservation Commission, Council on Aging, and several other boards and committees. All Committee/Board meetings are legally posted in the Town Hall, 697 Pleasant Street and on the calendar on the Town's website (click here) for information purposes.

Paxton has an elementary school for students to K through 8th Grade. Paxton is part of the Wachusett Regional School District for students entering grades 9 though 12. Senior Center

The Paxton Council on Aging is a municipal department that serves the needs of citizen's aged 60 and over. Amongst the many services and programs provided by the Council on Aging are information and referral, outreach, fitness and other health-related programs, educational, recreational and social programs. Sports Facilities

The Town has one golf course - Kettlebrook Golf Course location at 136 Marshall Street,and can be reached at (508) 799-4653.

The Paxton Tennis and Fitness Club is a club for swimming and tennis, located at 603 Pleasant, and can be reached at (508) 755-8223.

State Park

Paxton is fortunate to have Moore State Park located at Sawmill Road, off West Street. This is a wonderful place to enjoy a stroll, hike or a peaceful picnic. 

Supermarkets

Paxton has no large supermarkets in Town. The nearest are Big Y on Route 31, Holden, Shaw's on W.Boylston St., Worcester, Walmart on Route 9, Leicester and Big Y on Route 31 Spencer. We do have a local convenience store at 707 Pleasant Street, Paxton Marketplace and a specialty market, Ten West, at 10 West Street.

The Town Hall is located at 697 Pleasant Street and is open Monday - Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Motor Vehicles Excise Tax bills are issued once annually. For more information contact the Assessor at (508) 799-7231 ext. 1016.

Real Estate Tax bills are issued twice annually. For more information contact the Collector at (508) 799-7347 ext. 1015.

Trash & Recycling Collection

The Town of Paxton contracts with P. Pellegrino Trucking Co. Inc. for regular trash pick up and mandatory recycling of paper and containers. Collection days are Mondays through Thursday. A trash and recycling schedule can be obtained by calling the Town Hall at (508) 753-2803 ext. 1011or by downloading the document from the Town's website: click here. Water

The Town of Paxton purchases water from the City of Worcester and residents are billed monthly as part of the Utility bill sent out by the Paxton Light Department. There are no sewers in Paxton.
